Obviously i am not speaking to Mule or Luke but i really would like to hear from others if Obamas second term was acceptable in what he accomplished. I am not looking for the reasons why you think he failed (gridlock, fox news). Maybe he is the greatest because you got covered by Obamacare, or you can use whatever bathroom you wish, or you and your significant other were able to tie the knot. In fact, i really dont care of the reason why, but just if the buck stops at the top what grade do you give Obama.

Myself, I give him a C -.

It goes without saying that different people have different views, opinions and levels of expectations of what Presidents can and cannot do, as well as what they should and shouldn't do.

All that said, a solid B.

Thanks for answering . I did not give him a failing grade because i acknowledge the mess he inheirited and for the most part he has been free of a huge scandal and he has a nice family. He lost points for being way too partisan, too much of an idealogue which infected his decisions when shaping policy.

I didn't vote for him (Libertarian). I think he's done a great job in most areas. I am disappointed with his stance on environmental issues and that he didn't address a few issues that are important to smaller segments of the population (cannabis legalization).

I don't buy completely into the "he came into a big mess ..." thing. He did - no doubt. But his predecessor ("W") get's unfairly (at least at times) smeared for his treatment of certain issues (Katrina) during his tenure. "W" had 911, Katrina and several other issues to that HIS predecessor did not have to deal with.

I am not defending "W" or piling on Obama (didn't vote for either).

I'd give President Obama a strong A- or B+.

I think he did a good job. There is one more thing I would like him to do, and that is to pardon Bowe Bergdahl.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/02/us/politics/bowe-bergdahl-asks-obama-for- pardon.html?_r=0

Did he leave his post? Yes,

Is that desertion? Legally? Not sure. His intent was not to desert his team, I read some of his writings in which he described his misgivings about the war, the conflict between what he was told the war was about and the reality of what it was REALLY about once there. If anything he was a conscientious objector, he just could not in good conscience continue shooting at people he did not want to kill. He just wanted to leave war itself. Should someone be forced to kill when it is against their basic intrinsic human values? I am not even going to get up on my soapbox about the talibs. I think that Bowe was sick of war against peoples who did not ask for us to be there, (and that includes the general population - civilians), war against people (talibs) who were only defending themselves from an invading force (us). He just couldn't do it anymore.

What recourse to soldiers have when their heart, mind and spirit say NO, I cannot do this anymore?

Do they have to kill until they are allowed to stop killing?

How much killing is enough killing?

If Obama does not pardon him, then he probably should have stayed in Afghanistan and just became a Muslim and studied Islam. He would not have become a mujahid. All the talibs did was have him serve tea, which is close to what his job was here in the US as a barrista.

Was he planning and plotting with them? NO.

Was he out on the battlefield shooting with them against US forces? NO.

Bowe has said Trump will severely punish him. I think he is right. I hope Obama does the right thing, and pardons Bowe. If he can pardon Thanksgiving turkeys, he can certainly pardon a man who just could not kill anymore.

I give him an A- for effort and B+ for effectiveness. I think he did a pretty good job, especially considering the lack of cooperation he got with congress. I am happy overall with the way he handled the economy, especially with what he inherited. I appreciate that we finally saw some decreases in deficit spending. I'm happy with progress on some social issues. I'm disappointed on his handling of the BLM vs police issue. I appreciate his efforts to seek a grand bargain with the GOP that could have helped get a better handle on the deficit and debt long term which should have been snapped up by fiscal conservatives, and it's a shame that the attitude not to give Obama any victory whatsoever became more important than actually achieving many of the long term convervative goals they've been seeking for decades regarding entitlement spending. I'm ok with foreign policy during his term.

I think he's done a great job considering the ridiculous obstruction he's faced since Day One.

I am disappointed he hasn't rescheduled cannabis and is ignoring the Standing Rock protesters.

I give him a B+, around 88%. He never wavered from what he believed was right. The more viscious the opposition, the more class and dignity he showed. He never resorted to mud-slinging, and never wanted to create hostility among Americans. Those characteristics go a very long way for me. He doesn't get into the A category because he didn't do enough after Newtown, CT, and he inflamed racial tensions by taking a stance on local police matters. Both were mistakes, but of course he is also human. For what it's worth, I would say the exact same things about W. Bush, who I now admire very much for the incredible job he did in the face of adversity.

He actually let someone else deal with the Standing Rock Protesters, thumbs up to the Army Corps of Engineers. Yes we need the oil, but we have seen the increased earthquakes in Oklahoma from fracking, so someone has to put their foot down. The Army Corps. of Engineers knows, or they should know that eventually the Ohio River is going to widen to 50 miles wide and flow in the opposite direction that it does now. The Navy knows it, they did the maps showing the new coastlines once that happens. (whether it happens naturally, or it is caused to occur).

I agree with this. He didn't do everything I would want, but we are really going to miss the class he showed.... and soon. The obstruction from Congress from the day he got into office makes his accomplishments shine even more...... and I hope the republicans get to regret what they did to his Supreme Court nominee.... although that doesn't look like it's going to happen. He gained us respect again abroad, which is already being eroded by Trump. Although the ACA isn't perfect, it's a start - too bad the republicans didn't treat it that way. It remains to be seen what will happen to his green energy and climate change proposals, but I'm glad for what he tried to accomplish.....

x2 . Add to that his Monsanto bullcrap, stacking his administration with Monsanto lackeys, his pro BigPharma stance on mandatory vaccination, riding roughshod over states' rights as in the DARK act blowing Vermont's anti GMO efforts out of the water. He is pretty much a corporate scumbag.

All that said, it was comforting to have a president who could string words together into a sentence. I always got a chill when I heard W say "nucular".

Obama's complete failure has destroyed what was left of the Democratic Party:

Democrats lost over 1,000 seats under Obama
Published December 27, 2016 - FoxNews.com

Confidence or arrogance? Obama says he could've beaten Trump

President Obama claims he could have won a third term if he had been allowed to run – but even if he's right, his coattails haven’t done much for the rest of his party.

While Obama’s tireless campaigning, broad demographic appeal and message of “hope” and “change” helped propel him to two terms in the White House, his skills on the stump haven’t translated down the ballot.

The Democratic Party suffered huge losses at every level during Obama’s West Wing tenure.

The grand total: a net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts, including congressional and state legislative seats, governorships and the presidency.

The latter was perhaps the most profound example of Obama's popularity failing to translate to support for his allies. Hillary Clinton, who served as secretary of state under Obama, brought the first family out for numerous campaign appearances. In September, Obama declared that his “legacy’s on the ballot.”
Less than two months later, Americans voted for Donald Trump.

But 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue wasn’t the only locale to see a big partisan change since Obama took office in January 2009, according to figures from Ballotpedia.

Democratic U.S. Senate seats fell from 55 to 46. Their share of the House plummeted from 256 seats to 194. Republicans still control both chambers going into the next session.

Democratic governerships also became a rarity during this eight-year period, slipping from 28 to 16.
The Obama years, which saw the rise of the Tea Party as well as a new movement form around Trump that is still being defined, coincided with a loss of 958 state legislative seats for Democrats.

Still, Obama said in an interview which aired Monday that, if he were allowed to run for a third term, he would have been victorious.

“I am confident in this vision because I’m confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,” Obama told ex-adviser David Axelrod for “The Axe Files” podcast.

Trump responded, "no way!"

While Obama and others note that Clinton still won the popular vote last month, and Democrats shaved down the Republican majority on Capitol Hill, others in the party have voiced concerns about where Democrats go from here.

“We’re not even a national party at this point,” Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, said last month as he made a failed run at the House minority leader position. “We have some support on the coasts, but we’ve lost the support of middle America, and we’ve got to make some changes. So I’m pulling the fire alarm here, because the house is on fire.”

You gotta love it when welfareron tries to hide from the facts.
The article is 100% factual and includes the non-partisan source: https://ballotpedia.org/Main_Page

Of course if welfareron had the basic skill to source raw data he would know this but as usual he, like his messiah obama, fails.

obama the failure continues his 8 year reign over the demise of the Democratic Party.
In less than a month his sorry a$$ will be gone too.

It's fitting you put that in past tense, because he's not acting very classy right now. It's hard to remember a more disagreeable transition, with the outgoing President (and his wife) out making disparaging remarks about the election winner. Not very classy. He's acting like an a bitter man with A score to settle on his way out.

Of course you include Michelle in there when she hasn't done one damn thing as far as "disparaging remarks" go.

There are different type of power. Musicians not wanting to play for Trump at his inauguration is a form of power.

Here is an article on the rockettes and performing for Trump. Shunning and heckling are also forms of power.

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/radio-city-rockette-talks-turmoil -over-trump-inauguration-w457985

It seems that Trump also seems satisfied with Obama.

Yes they do. There are states that have Democratic majorities in both chambers and as the governor. Those states are still part of the United States.
