Thanks very much for the update Angel

I am really hoping that they will be playing somewhere near London on either the 8th or 9th . . . because on Sat 10th I have to go to Switzerland and having waited sooooo long for them to come over to Europe I really do not want to miss them

Newcastle City Hall is a great venue. My favourite concert ever was Van Morrison there in 1973.

The scheduling is a bit askew - London, Binmingham, Manchester, Newcastle would have made more sense but I suppose venues had to be avalaible.

What's the Astoria like? I was hoping for Shepherd's Bush Empire.

Hi Colin

Guess my shuttle to Edinburgh's going to get cancelled!!!! I was in transit from Phoenix to Edinburgh that day but the Mule got in the way. See you guys in the Pillar ( with English notes in my pocket).

A small peace of cheer on a tragic day

Alan

So that is a photo of which venue? It is beautiful.

I heard that the Manchester and the London shows are general admission. Is that true? Are the other two shows seated? Is the Newcastle City Hall show an outdoor venue? And it looks like Manchester has an academy 1, 2, and 3.

I've been having some trouble getting venue information. I had some luck on this site,
http://www.ticketline.co.uk but it went down before I could finish searching all four venues.

Also, anyone know a decent car rental company?

WHOO-HOO . . . just got tickets in the pre-sale for the Astoria . . . Note the following:

1) General Admission . . . so although there are seats it is first come first served with regards to what seat you get

2) Doors open at 6-30

3) Curfew at 10-20

Now when they played the Mean Fiddler they ignored the curfew and played an encore until about 11pm BUT the set was probably a couple of songs shorter than normal because of that. It is interesting to note here that the doors are opening earlier so maybe the show will actually start at 8 or even earlier this time . . . whatever . . . I know I am going to enjoy it!

SEE YOU THERE

Angel, that is the Astoria in London.

That might have been the Astoria a few decades ago, it certainly doesn't look like that now. There's no seats (well, a few upstairs) & any decor you see is painted black these days. It's a bit grotty to be honest but it's got atmosphere & I've seen countless great shows there.

Got my tickets for Birmingham, London and Manchester !!

The picture of the Astoria does look pretty sweet, however, as Rasc says it looks nothing like that anymore. The sound is what matters though most of all, and the 2 times i've been to London's Astoria (Santana, Ben Harper) the sound was really good.

Bring it on !!

I'd be surprised if they did a show at Royal Albert Hall.....Mule fans from EVERYWHERE would flock to see the band play there, 'cause from what I've heard about it, it's HUGE!

I registered with GetLive.com but, when I try to sign it, I get a message saying
"Server Error in '/' Application. - Unable to validate data. "

Anybody else have this problem?

Well, I've been MIA from here for a week or two, but was fortunate to catch this news elsewhere - WHOO HOO!!!

Am taking Mrs McF to Manchester, and probably going to catch Newcastle too - sorry guys, but looks like I'll be missing Colin at least.

Hopefully I'll catch some of you at the Northern shows though...
