well, any cell phone will change automatically... unless you have it turned off, in which case it will correct it self when you turn it on next.

your computer should update itself as well too, as long as you had the recent updates that told it when the new time change occurs...

I'm not sure a "handheld" would differ... what kind of handheld are you talking about...?

are you NOT wanting it to be correct until monday instead of tonight?

I downloaded a patch for my Palm to update it to the new DST rules. If you need to update Palm OS here's the message I received with the link for the patch:

Palm(R)

**********************************************************************
NEW Daylight Saving Time changes - Palm(R) device update required!
**********************************************************************

You are receiving this product-related message because our records indicate that you have purchased and/or registered a Palm device.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins March 11, 2007 -- three weeks earlier than last year. DST will also last one week longer in the fall as well, changing back to standard time on November 11, 2007.

To help your calendar events and email reflect these new DST changes, please visit the link below to download the DST update for all Palm(R) devices. Remember, your device will NOT update automatically, so please download this update from Palm.com before March 11:

A couple hours ago I manually set my computer's clock--and fell back! Then I was all puzzled because it was getting light out wayyy too soon.

i wonder that too JS.......probably not i would guess since the daylight savings rules are different, and unless that has a feature to talk to the mothership it might not.

My atomic clock automatically updated at around 2:00 AM last night, too. My cell phone clock automatically updated also. Even the clock on my computer automatically updated, too. I didn't know if the one on the computer would change over, but it did.

Some cat posted all this in Miss Linnie's thread from the WP...

Um, i'll pass it along to you guys over here...

For those who own a radio controlled(sometimes referred to as an atomic clock)...
So, we've switched to Daylight Saving Time, and your clock didnít change.

This page provides information about radio controlled clocks, including how they work, where they work, and what to do when they donít work:
http://tf.nist.gov/timefreq/stations/radioclocks.htm

Also, some of these radio controlled clocks have a way to disable Daylight Saving Time. Make sure it isnít disabled if your area observes DST. There is most likely an on/off toggle for DST.

Having problems with your radio controlled clock? Contact the manufacturer from this list of umpteen hundred:
http://tf.nist.gov/timefreq/general/receiverlist.htm

My mother-in-law (88 years old) has the right idea. She has 2 clocks in every room, one set to "fast time" and one set to "slow time". When it's time to change from standard time to daylight time she just switches which clock she looks at.

The localNBC station out here told us every day for the past week during the weather forecast to remember to change our clocks. During the weather segment, they display a real time clock with the temperatures and radar screens. And, you guessed it, today the clock was still on standard time.

And people wonder why I have no faith in the news media after working in TV the last 23 1/2 years.

We actually had some problems at the station I work at. Some computers changed and others didn't
