I have truly been blessed with the presence of Frank Vignola in my life since having started working at Stringed Instruemnt Repairs & the Wagon Shed. I have met & played with Frank several times over the past two years. My playing has gained ground as a result, not only from what Frank has taught me, but from the questions that have arisen from simply watching him play. I have learned new things about song structure, rhythm & phrasing, new approaches to scales (horizontally instead of vertically/box), playing solos always with the melody in mind, etc. And Frank is truly a great person, always ready to give himself to a performance & to his fans.

Many thanks go out to Art Wachter who is so kind as to share this monster playing on his website.

A tune called Funky Monkey: (Kind of reminds me of Instrumental Illness)

Peace~! Brian

We have another concet with Frank Vignola here at the shop tomorrow. Chadwick018923548907253 will be here with us too. Thought I might ask anyone if for some intelligent questions to make conversation with Frank & Robinella (he will be backing her doing standards).

New youtube video of the Frank Vignola Quintet backing Robinella (good stuff!)

I just found out that the next time Frank comes to our shop it will be with Bucky Pizzarelli! Here is a video of the two of them playing Limehouse Blues, a tune Bucky played regularly with Stephan Grapelli.
