Well, I always know where I can turn for musical help...

I'm involved with a Shakespeare In the Park show this summer...thank you

Taming of the Shrew to be specific and there is a scene where one of the characters wakes up with a wicked hangover....I'm looking for a 15-20 second musical interlude to refelect the agony of the character.

Nothing real heavy duty, something along the lines of the musical intro's to Sympathy for the Devil or Roadhouse Blues.

Any and all ideas are appreciated.

The piano has been drinking, my necktie is asleep
And the combo went back to New York, the jukebox has to take a leak
And the carpet needs a haircut, and the spotlight looks like a prison break
And the telephone's out of cigarettes, and the balcony is on the make
And the piano has been drinking, the piano has been drinking...

And the menus are all freezing, and the light man's blind in one eye
And he can't see out of the other
And the piano-tuner's got a hearing aid, and he showed up with his mother
And the piano has been drinking, the piano has been drinking
As the bouncer is a sumo wrestler cream-puff casper milktoast
And the owner is a mental midget with the IQ of a fence post
'cause the piano has been drinking, the piano has been drinking...

And you can't find your waitress with a Geiger counter
And she hates you and your friends and you just can't get served without
her
And the box-office is drooling, and the bar stools are on fire
And the newspapers were fooling, and the ash-trays have retired
because the piano has been drinking, the piano has been drinking
The piano has been drinking, not me, not me, not me, not me, not me...

Music--Kim Mitchell/Lyrics--Pye DuBois)
tomorrow don't be here today / take a cruise take a holiday
cold morning and the drums / blue eyes in the window sun
C--i don't feel you but i know you're around
i can feel you cause i feel the sound
cold morning and the drums / blue eyes in the window sun
alka seltzer, tang and a 50 / it's all over / hangover
it's getting warmer
it's controlling my mind
it's coming closer
i'm biding my time
double vision when the bars close down
double vision when the bars close down
my legs are weak
her arms are strong
the door is open
the stairs are steep
the room is near
but oh so far
the lights are round
but so are the stars--C
you got a hangover?
i got a hangover

I think Kris Kristofferson said it best:

"Well I woke up Sunday mornin' with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, so I had one more for dessert".

Lyrics for Song: Sunday Morning Coming Down
Lyrics for Album: All Time Greatest Hits
Well I woke up Sunday morning,
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes,
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
An' I shaved my face and combed my hair,
An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.

I'd smoked my brain the night before,
On cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin'.
But I lit my first and watched a small kid,
Cussin' at a can that he was kicking.
Then I crossed the empty street,
'n caught the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken.
And it took me back to somethin',
That I'd lost somehow, somewhere along the way.

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,
Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
'Cos there's something in a Sunday,
Makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothin' short of dyin',
Half as lonesome as the sound,
On the sleepin' city sidewalks:
Sunday mornin' comin' down.

In the park I saw a daddy,
With a laughin' little girl who he was swingin'.
And I stopped beside a Sunday school,
And listened to the song they were singin'.
Then I headed back for home,
And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'.
And it echoed through the canyons,
Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday.

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,
Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
'Cos there's something in a Sunday,
Makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothin' short of dyin',
Half as lonesome as the sound,
On the sleepin' city sidewalks:
Sunday mornin' comin' down.

I Got Loaded by Los Lobos

Wasn't That A Party by the Rovers

Not sure how well they'd mix with Shakespeare, Dutch, but give it a whirl.

I'm not a Buffet fan, but what was that one that went:

My head hurts, my feet stink
and I don't love Jesus ...
If I ain't dead by Thursday,
I'll be rolling Friday night.

This is simple! "When the Hangover Strikes" by Squeeze or possibly "Hair of the Dog" by Nazareth

Any piece in particular?

I'm really looking for a instrumental interlude to paint the picture.

Thanks All
