I am thankful for a merciful God whose vision is much far reaching than mine; which gives me courage to know that what I do not understand is there but for the grace of God & I should not fear it.

I am thankful for peace in this country that I love, so that I can provide for my family & rest assured that when I come home they will still be there safe.

I am thankful for my family & friends, for whom I exist, for without them I would not be who I am.

I am thankful for our family's good health, which enables us to take advantage of any opportunity we may set our minds to gain.

I am thankful for a peace-loving people among whom I exist, for I do not have to live in fear of my neighbor.

To me everything else really boils down to something less improtant.

Thank you to Lisa, for opening my eyes to what I am thankful for.

Ditto -- personally I'm thankful for my health since there is little else -- and thankful to Mother Nature for being able to use it in to enjoy her glory -- how often the times on the ski hill/hiking-biking trail of realizing, This is not reality -- reality is down there -- I like it better up here
Check out those Daily OMs -- they too remind of the important things

I am thankful for a lot of things, most of which I take for granted way too often.

Life.
Heallth.
My family.
My friends, many of them on this very website.
Life's small pleasures, too many to count.

And not to get too sappy, but there's a Garth Brooks song that asks the question,

"If tomorrow never comes, will they know much I love them?"

Love is all that remains the same, that's what it's all coming to. ~Dickey Betts~

Reading this thread I started thinking of what I am thankful for and it is plenty.
I am very thankful for this part of my life.
I am thankful for a 37 year marriage to a wonderful man.
I am thankful we are both healthy.
I am very thankful to be a cancer survivor.
I am thankful for my friends and family.
This may break the mood, but I am thankful we were able to retire comfortably
and enjoy the rest of our lives together.
I realize I do take a lot for granted.

I'm thankful those I love are well and happy.
I'm thankful I can still cry at sad movies, grieve for sick children, and relate to people in pain.
I'm glad I'm not so jaded I can hear a song in the wind, see beauty in a weed and enjoy the taste of a summer rain.
And every day, I'm thankful I lived when I was told I wouldn't. I consider every day since a gift from God.
