Hey everyone! from what I heard, the Southern Calif fires have been/are pretty bad! Hope any ABB fans living in these areas are safe! Heard quite a few lives and homes have been lost! I used to live in theses areas when my Dad was in the service in the late 70s.

I'll check on them Monday when I land in Irvine, CA. It's against my better judgement, but the job says I gotta go. I just hope I don't make an ash out of myself.

Rusty, that would be ember-ashing.

I have a friend north of San Diego whose house is about 6 miles SW of the perimeter of one of the big fires, which has now been put out in the populated areas. The San Diego paper online has an interactive fire map, which shows the whole area, with info and clickable video and pic icons embedded at the appropriate map locations.
http://www.signonsandiego.com/firemap/

To get a better sense of the property destruction, under the map click the "92128" (click the zip code itself; don't check the box) to zoom in, and "burnt house" icons appear all up and down the streets. This is the worst damage close to my friend, who lives 7 miles S of these particular burned houses. Can you imagine all those houses burned up?

A couple, three years ago, a fire came through less than 1 mile south of her house. Otherwise, San Diego sounds lovely year round.
