It was clearer to see, though, how deeply carved the bottom half of that guitar is. The four dark spaces behind the woman, I think, are actually carved all the way through the guitar. (The dark space under the "Delta blues" banner might be just deep shadow, but it still indicates the great amount of relief to the carving.)

I wish the owner would lose those two pickguards, though! Too much going on for one guitar. The fonts don't match the carving's, either, and the "Crossroads" guy is way too small, compared to the blueswoman. It's probably a photo-based image of the guitar owner himself on a pilgrimage to a Delta crossroads (in bright daylight--chicken), so the vanity factor is another minus.

Although him and the big blueswoman together do have a kinda R. Crumb thing going on.
