a word I've come to really appreciate in the Bible:

"therefore".

there were three verses my mentor had me memorize when I first became a Christian. (Funny how you can have something so memorized it's like second nature...it'd be nice if I could do that with the whole Bible...I've put many verses to memory since then but the whole book, wouldn't that be great?!!)

anyway, 1John 1:9..."if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness".

1John, awesome book.

It's a tough day today. We just found out that our daughter's soccer coach is pulling out from our club and taking her team to another club. It costs significantly more to play for this club, and we can't afford it. My daughter is ery very good, and loves the game. Her dream is to play professionally. She is at her grandmother's for the week, so we won't tell her until she gets home. This is going to be hard, and it breaks my heart for her. It is also an opportunity to realize that God has a plan for us even if we don't understand it. Any prayers for condolences, acceptance, and peace for my daughrter from you good folks would be greatly appreciated.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose."

Prayers to you and your daughter and hopefully a door will open where this one closed.........

Oh man, this will be hard. But opportunities abound here. But, this will be hard. Add my prayers to the list, and be sure to let her know that we all are thinking of her and praying for her.

I hadn't seen this post.

It breaks my heart. Just breaks my heart.

Brother, I will send this situation to a group of people known as "The Prayer Warriors", some real heavy hitters. I myself, in my humble and meager standing, will pray earnestly on this... for you, your daughter and your family...as I always have.

Tell her "Don't be afraid, just believe" Mark 5:36
"Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head. Follow Me" Luke 9:58,59

Went to church with Seth this past Sunday, man he goes to a fantastic little church out in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, the meat of the message was 'don't fight the journey'. I think it applies in this situation. I don't know how old she is, but I know you will gently guide her through this. It will still be a punch for her.

More love and prayers for your daughter.

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers. Connor will be 13 on Saturday. There is a team that wants her to come play for them and is willing to give her a scholarship. Her team is also working to try to get some kind of financial assistance so she can continue with them. Any way it goes it is an opportunity for her to take a step closer to God in trust and faith, an opportunity for our entire family really. We should know something for sure by the start of next week. You guys don't know how much your support means to us. You are the best.

I consider it a blessing and a humbling experience to pray for someone else.

Gives ME the opportunity to once again talk with God.

Hey man, you helped me out big time. You're a straight ahead dude MacKenzie, top shelf.

You truly are delusional....

Seriously, thanks again for the prayers. We have been able to work out some financial arrrangements with the club and the help of some of the parents on the team. This help was unsolicited, they just stepped up and offered. God works in our lives through other people, even piacere. Talk about miracles! Anyway, looks like everything is going to work out just fine. it is so nice to have this walk with God that includes such fine brothers and sisters. Helps us to know that whatever happens God is in charge and it will be just fine in the long run. Some runs are longer than others, but they all begin and end in the arms of our Lord and Saviour.

true. (not that I'm delusional, though I am in fact..."different")

The older I get (insert comment here) the more I trust in Him, confide in Him and know with certainty that all of this is in accordance with his plan. Following Christ is such a wonderful gift of freedom. Set apart and loosened from all things that once bound me and held me hostage. He paid the ransom.

Thank you Lord Jesus !!!

Nancy

yup, that's a great book. Another one of the verses I had to memorize is in there...

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"

Phil. 4:6

"while a silent war wages with the fear and the doubt, I try to run faster to find a way out, I'm convinced if I stumble they'll just cast me aside, mock at my weakness and shatter my pride.."

"Perfect love casts out fear"

Outwardly I appear to be strong and in command of my life. Inwardly I struggle much with fear and doubt. I do not doubt my Heavenly Father, I doubt myself, my decisions, my actions, fear screams at me "what if I get it wrong" so that in my fierce battle I courageously make a decision and then it seems it was the wrong one. Have to be reminded often that I rest in the right hand of God the Father Almighty. And that is the secrect to being content in any situation isn't it? To TRUST Him. I find myself in Philippians often.

Everybody have a great day.

Paul was content no matter the circumstances. Of course, that was Paul. I'm not Paul. It's so comforting though to know we have a living Savior who came among us to be like us for a spell, to show us, "Hey, I'm here, stay with me".
I struggle too Nancy with the exact same things. There's no doubt, that between the external forces of this world and the inward battles, without the power and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I'd still be a drunk/drug addict.

I just this minute prayed for you, I always do.

My pastor gave a sermon a month or so ago about prayer ( I may have mentioned this before...)and to pray as Jesus taught, not only the Our Father but with the heart and without many words. My pastor said, and I agree, we can pray without saying one word. A groan, a sigh, and God knows...

Be blessed and have a great day yourself...
