Hey there sweet family,
Still in a Wanee glow, but will write about it soon, I promise.
Meanwhile, an update for you:
The Allman Brothers Band have announced that their annual residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City will be rescheduled for early 2009. This year’s string of shows--a group tradition started in 1989--were postponed earlier this month as singer/keyboardist Gregg Allman continues his recovery from treatment for Hepatitis C.
Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster internet and phones will be automatically refunded. All other tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Information on purchasing tickets for the 2009 Allman Brothers Band's run at the Beacon will be announced early next year.
“New York’s a second home to us,” says Gregg. “We love playing there and are as disappointed as anybody not to be able to get there this time.”
Although unable to play for fans in New York City this year, the group will resume its touring schedule in August with co-headliner Bob Weir & RatDog. Tickets for shows August 13 in Wantagh, NY (Jones Beach) and August 15 in Holmdel, NJ (PNC Bank Arts Center) go on sale May 3 at 9:00AM Eastern. Dates for shows in upstate New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois and Colorado are expected to be confirmed soon.
The band plans on making the 2009 shows their best ever, with special plans to commemorate the group’s 40th anniversary. Confirmed tour dates are listed in Tour Dates on the home page, with more to be scheduled.
Take care and know that you are loved,
Lana

Had a feeling this announcement was coming. Will be able to catch them at Jones Beach, but I only hope they perform if Gregg is up to it and not rushing his return to the stage. Best wishes to Gregg for his return to health. |

I'm guessing we'll just notice a refund on our credit card statements. Correcto? Si?
Extended healing wishes and good vibes to Gregg! I sure do hope to catch the band sometime and somewhere as soon as they do hit the road! ____________________ Music is love, and love is music, if you know what I mean.

Hey there sweet family,
You're welcome :-)
Yes - refunds will be reflected on your credit card statements.
The Canandaigua show is on the home page too. I *think* there will be a pre-sale, but don't have any details yet. I also think the tour will roll from east to west, ending up in CO. Oh, Rowland, guess where we're going this summer :-)

Very nice...it just so happens I will be celebrating my 40th birthday in May of 2009. I don't think I could have thought of a better way to celebrate the #40 than with the Brothers and all of us family members! |

In your dreams!
What is it you guys call it when a whole bunch get together to sue? Class action? Time to take ticketmaster to task for not being able to supply you with what you contracted them to. They have riders in the terms and conditions I know, but is this fair terms of trade? In effect, they are charging for something they say they can't promise to supply and not refunding when they fail to do so. We are paying a service charge for a service we don't receive through no fault of ours. Ticketmaster's gripe for lost business should be with the promoter or even ultimately with the band's management, but surely they'll be insured for show cancellation due to illness. Surely someone there knows a good lawyer who will do some pro bono (?) work. Or have I been watching too much Ally McBeal?
Is there an alternative to using ticketmaster? I remember Pearl Jam were wanting them to reduce the charges some years ago, but struggled to find an alternative.
For the recent Neil Young gig in London we paid £13.00 ($25.00) for the privilege of getting two tickets sent by one email.
