I just picked up the CD this morning and have just finished listening to it ... excellent stuff for sure. It was like opening the door to an old friend that you had not seen for 40 years ... and you are right that it does remind you of just what an integral part of CSN he was ... pure nostalgia at its best ... if the concert in October is anything like this then I will be well happy!!!

I've got something for you that's along these lines

any of you guys going to Santana?
Hoping for a good show, although I'm slightly worried about the "special guests" as it's not going to be Derek

Not an "upcoming" - a report on a "just went|". Matt Schofield Trio at the Corn Exchange in Devizes in front of around 200 folks on Friday. First time I've seen him as the main act - he was awesome! 2 hours of blistering blues in a very well paced set with some excellent jamming with the support band (Earl Green Band) near the end. And Matt was sporting an ABB Tshirt before taking to the stage. Catch him if you can. Much as I like Joe B, I like Matt more!

Hope you all enjoy Robert Randolph on Friday, wish I was joining you.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the show, Jim. Matt, Johnny and Evan go from strength to strength!

I've seen Matt wearing a scruffy ABB t-shirt pre-show before. Good to see!

While I'm on, I hope to see everyone in the Pillars of Hercules on Friday!

Bollocks! R.R. Sold oot! As small as The Borderline is, I should have learnt that lesson by now. So if anybody hears of a spare........

I'm also after a ticket for Robert Randolph on Friday night if anyone has any spares, too slow on the uptake again. I seem to get taught this lesson every couple of years but it never seems to sink in

Sorry guys, but I have been unwell for the past couple of weeks and so I won't be able to make the Robert Randolph gig tonight ... hope you have a great time.

Hopefully I will be back to somewhere near normal in the next couple of weeks in time for the Little Feat gig at IndigO2 ... any preferred watering hole inside the Dome to meet at?

"Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, Tesco!"

Robert Randolph and the Family Band tore up a storm at the Borderline. Surprisingly a 5-piece band (the website shows them as 4-piece) with the addition of a rhythm guitarist, they played a high-energy, funky set a little shy of the advertised 2 hours.

Weaving their way through a set of originals and unlikely covers (Bo Diddley's "Bo Diddley", Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" and the Doobie Brothers' "Jesus Is Just Alright"), the band won the appreciation of a packed audience.

The only disappointment was that Eric Clapton was caught up in heavy traffic and only arrived after the band left the stage for the last time.

Yeah ... but I bet you enjoyed listening to that 6/26/71 show on the way home

Thanks for the review Gordon ... glad you had a great show

You were missed Colin, hope you get back up to speed soon.

Really had a good gig too, top band , Jason Crosby on keys, killer bass player and drummer. A lot of presence on that stage to be sure. They seemed to be enjoying the small venue as much as we were, and those knockout gorgeous chicks who got onstage for a dance almost made me want to be single again hehe

Keith, need your addy for those cuts we were chatting about

D

Yeah, that was a cracking show! Sorry you've been ill Colin and I hope you'll be "match fit" soon. Dave I'll PM you my address and thanks in advance. I'm thinking about Little Feat but possibly up in Newcastle that weekend.

Thanks for the well wishes guys ... I am feeling a bit better each day but the Doc says it could be up to a month before I'm back on top of things again ... hey ho, could be much worse ...

Anyway, whatever state I am in I intend to be at Little Feat in two weeks time ... any suggestions for a watering hole in the Dome to meet at?

There's no bars as such on Entertainment Avenue, just eateries.

http://www.theo2.co.uk/inside/bars-restaurants-in-entertainment-avenue.html

Zizzi and Spur are okay and reasonably priced (assuming normal prices apply).

When there is a show on at the O2, all the places are packed, but I can't see anything listed for that day. Will make getting the tube back into London a bit easier too. I was genuinely worried about the crush on the platform after Foo Fighters/ Lucinda Williams. Those Lucinda fans are brutes!!!!

We can pick one and meet early for a bite to eat.

There are a couple of bars in the O2. Not sure why it hasn't listed them on the page you gave. I recall see a Slug and Lettuce there. Enjoy the gig guys.

Thanks, Barry. It is listed - No. 14.

Shall we agree on the Slug & Lettuce then?
