Hey guys

Long time no see Del and I haven't been much out travelling this year, so we haven't been able to catch up with you. I'm hoping that it will be better next year (crossing my fingers).

I just popped in to let you know that this years bluesfest in Notodden has a great lineup:
Warren Haynes Band, the original Blues Brothers Band, Elvin Bishop, Dana Fuchs band, Beth Hart etc etc.
I'm so excited!!
You can check out the lineup here:

Anyone going to Roger Daltrey Plays Tommy at Indig02 on Thu 21 July?

I'm in. I like the venue and the seats are all one price (£49.50) including the super comfy King's Row VIP section.

Gordon, Going to Bristol Colston Hall to see Daltrey doing Tommy. O2 is a b****** to get back from if you live in the sticks!

In case anyone missed Darren's seperate post -

"Just in case you missed it on the WH page he has added a UK date at the Shepherds Bush Empire on the 5th of July"

Presale for O2 customers probably starting tomorrow (Wednesday 11th), general sale starts Friday 13th .

That cheered me up after having to miss JJ Grey in Bristol last night, but 29th June -
5th July is looking to be an expensive week (all that beer)!

Just about! Staying at the Grantley (opposite the Empire) on 29th with Alan and Colin (can see that night being a bit messy!) then Karen's coming in on 30th and we're staying with our neice in Croydon till the Sunday, but just me for Gregg's show. Just getting the train for the 5th and hope they keep within the curfew so I can make the 11:30 back!

O2 presale for Warren starts at 9:00am Wednesday 11th. I'll be going for the upstairs first balcony (unless it's seated downstairs). Wish they would do reserve seating there so we don't need to leave the pub early.

Gentlemen, I was at The Barbican last evening for the wonderful Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra.

I was in Row G which we have commandeered for Gregg Allman and I think you will find these seats perfect!

There is a pub between St Paul's tube station and the Barbican - The Lord Raglan.

http://web.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/35/3553/Lord_Raglan/St_Pauls

This one is a possibility too.

http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/86/8647/Sutton_Arms/Barbican

A bottle of Spitfire inside the venue will cost you £5.50!!

Of those two pubs, I'd go for the Sutton Arms, purely because of the comments about the levels of music at the Raglan. Did you sample any of those two, Gordon? Anyone else got views on them? Barry? Anyway, we can discuss it in O'Neills a couple of nights before. As I'm staying over, whether I remember any conversations may be another issue.

Jim, I only passed The Raglan and found The Sutton from research.

The Raglan was not open - there is little trade for pubs in the city at weekend.

I agree that the Sutton look a better bet in a pretty barren area.

I was thinking either the Two Brewers (a proper pub) or The Trader (I've had lunch in there a few times and is good for food) both in Whitecross street which is close to the venue entrance in Silk street rather than all the way over by the tube station which seemed to me like a bit of a trek after a few beers.
