For the Derek & Susan gig, Jim and I are staying overnight in Shepherd's Bush ... so I guess it means a two mile walk from Paddington to the Bush on Wednesday afternoon and then wait until noon Thursday morning for the tubes to start again ...

Or stay in London and catch the Snakeoil Rattlers gig and get an evening train back. Barry's on stage 7ish for half an hour or so(6 entry) and I'm booked on the 21:45 from Paddington, so should catch the second band as well.

Sounds like a good plan - where is the Snakeoil gig?

OK. How far is Kings Cross Station from Shepherds Bush and how do we do it

You could get the London Overground from Caledonian Road and Barnsbury station to Shepherds Bush and it's either a short bus ride or a 10/15 min walk from Kings X. Your train into London may stop at another LO station before Kings X so you should check your route.

Trouble is it finishes early so getting back will still be a pain in the arse.

Thanks Barry, that sounds like what we'll do. Slumming it in the Grantley afterwards with Jim and Colin so won't need to go back at night

Last time we were in there we had brekkie with Yonrico Scott. Seemingly the whole DTB were in, but Yonrico was the only one we saw in the hotel. Spoke to Todd outside before the gig though. Nice guys.

Stop panicking everybody! Plenty of time for the strikes to be called off & regardless of that there's usually some sort of service running. There's plenty of buses as well, take a few minutes & look at the TFl website journey planner:

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

Can't say I've ever missed a gig because of a tube strike.

For those with iPhones/Smartphones, 59 pence will get you TubeMap Pro app which gives the up-to-date service info as well as route finder.

Philip Sayce July 25 at The Borderline.
Steve Cropper & The Animals (well, Joihn Steel) at The Borderline 31 August.

I can't say I'm blown away by what I've seen of Sayce on You Tube. Good opportunity for photographers who like to snap guitarists grimacing though!

I left it too late, so will be staying at the Comfotel GRN on Shepherds Bush Road.

I will be at the Grantly after the second Black Crowes gig next month. Strangely i'll be staying elsewhere for the first night.

Oh yes!! I wonder if they'll bring the horns? In a way, I hope not...more space for Derek and Kofi in particular.

Almost looking forward as much to seeing RR & FB as TTB.

The last time I saw them (Bush Hall), there was a ridiculous number of steel players on stage (4?). It wasn't as good as the previous time at The Borderline though.

If there is no jam with the two bands, it will be criminal.

I'll be getting inside early so will be in pub early (old retired blokes' prerogative!).
