Thanks for the good wishes, guys. New horizons beckon and happy to be moving on. Time was right for a change. Can't see me being on same money ever again, but as long as the bills get paid and we get by with enough to treat ourselves occasionally, that'll be just fine.

But London midweek gigs will be very curtailed as there is no way I'll have the freedom that I had in my previous job to work flexibly.
----------------------------------------------
Hope all works out Jim. Hoping to see y'all soon

For the UK Bonamassa fans maybe of interest (i like Bonamassa myself but he doesn't "move me" like other guitarists past or present do; but the "world's premiere guitarist" description in this press release makes me wanna puke):

"Joe Bonamassa to make recording history at 4 London venues – Each concert will be specially filmed for DVD and will feature never-before performed live tracks!

Joe Bonamassa, the world’s premiere guitarist, will perform four exclusive London concerts during March 2013. Each concert will be specially filmed for DVD and will feature never-before performed live tracks. The four London concerts will chronicle Joe’s atmospheric rise from the intimate club atmosphere of The Borderline, to the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. The live in-concert DVDs will be released during fall 2013.

Hailed as The Guitar Event of the Year, Bonamassa will pay homage to the historic London venues he’s played by going back to his ten studio albums to perform songs for the very first time. The four London 2013 concerts will individually showcase a unique band configuration that will highlight diverse elements of Joe’s style. Each performance will be distinctive with different set lists. Collectively, there will be upwards of eighty new and old songs performed over the four nights that even the most die-hard Bonamassa fan will experience for the first time.

The London run will start at the intimate 200-capacity London Borderline on Tuesday March 26, 2013. Bonamassa will then play the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire and HMV Hammersmith Apollo on Wednesday March 27 and Thursday March 28 respectively, before finishing the week at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday March 30.

“London is like my second home,” says Bonamassa. “I want to give the fans attending the London concerts a real treat – a thank you for their unwavering support. Over the years I’ve received requests for tracks we’ve never performed live. Now, it feels right that we delve into the back catalogue and dedicate London fans with unique versions of tracks they’ve never experienced live.”

Just letting you know that my band The Snakeoil Rattlers will be playing a special Halloween show on Wednesday 31st October at Surya (156 Pentonville Road, Kings Cross, London, N1 9JL Tel: 020 7713 6262 http://www.suryalondon.com ) where we'll be joined by the delights of The Velvetines and the terrific Bex Marshall and her rootsy blues delights. The doors open at 7:30pm and it's only £6 on the door or £4 in advance ( http://www.seetickets.com/Event/THE-VELVETINES/Surya/669828 ). We're on around 9pm.

Expect swamp, blues, country, rock, whiskey and voodoo. In fact it's everything that you'd expect from your favourite episode of True Blood. Minus the vampires -- possibly -- but lots of Southern hospitality. We will even be playing some specially themed songs and there will be a trick or treat bowl at the foot of the stage throughout the performance.

So if you have sweet tooth, a liking for all things Southern gothic, come along.

Anymore for anymore???

Also ... any ideas as to a nearby watering hole for pre-show tea?

And ... any recommendations regarding parking - any nearby car parks - or somewhere on the Northern Line so we can park up and come in by tube?

The Spread Eagle on Parkway is the only drinking hole of choice round there. Right up your street too mate. http://www.youngs.co.uk/pub-detail.asp?PubID=450

Check out this site for parking. Not sure how accurate it is.

Most of the Car Parks on that website that are near the venue seem to be for regular commuters parking lots or for Supermarkets with restricted hours - nearest public car park appears to be Euston Station - may try there - if not park further out and get tube to venue.

As for the pub - great choice Barry - see you there mate!

Don't know what direction you're coming from, but we usually park at the Broadwalk Centre in Edgware. It's not far from the M1 and they have a commuter car park section that is £4 for all day and is on the end of the Northern line. I have parked at High Barnet, which is at the end of the other Northern branch of the line, in the past but can't remember much about it.

RSB were good last night at the Stables in MK. Highlight for me was Fire on the Mountain, but I'm a Deadhead at heart, and the end jam on the song should please most Brothers fans. Wife liked Keep On Rockin, Pearl River, and Gimme Shelter.

Have a night off tonight before Ian Siegal on Thursday, JJ Grey on Friday, and Patterson Hood next Tuesday.

Thanks for the info "cletus" ... but we are coming in on the M4, so don't really want to end up as far north as Edgware if we can help it ...

Yeah Ive heard of the place... Moray and I met the couple that run it. They were playing music over the PA at a gig we went to a couple of years ago...We suddenly realised the music we could hear was really good - Marshall Tucker, Elvin Bishop, Allmans..

Really enjoyed Royal Southern Brotherhood last night. The Fire On The Mountain jam a particular high point but all were in fine form. I'm pleased from talking to Yonrico and Devon that they may well make it to Bluesfest at Byron Bay next year. I really hope they do. Going to check out JJ Grey on Friday night in Islington before head back to Oz on Saturday morning.
