If you're going that early to the museum be sure to tell them that you're also going to the show when you park. Otherwise they can send you to a lot that needs a shuttle bus to get to and from the venue and might not allow tailgating. And definitely tell them you have a museum visit scheduled, too. Maybe that way you can get a decent spot within walking distance that still allows for easy exit at the end of the night.

We got sent to a grass lot when we went for Phil/Trey & Mike and heard it was a nightmare getting out. We had a hunch and left early.

We're hoping to get there whenever they open the lots if the sun is shining and it's not too hot. The tailgating scene could be a blast again.

I left early at a show once to beat the traffic, It was the band Boston. Out side show. We got to the car and they had parked the cars bumper to bumper, side to side. I was so PO'ed
we weren't going anywhere.

Y'all be sure to give them a hell of a cheer for us all..................when they walk out on the stage. Long time coming!!

Thanks for the heads up!!! Is it possible to try and meet up with everyone or is it a pain parking?

I just saw Steely Dan there a few weeks ago - my first visit there and I loved it. Just an overall nice venue with a cool vibe. And nice sound - we were on the lawn and it sounded real nice. We got there early, parked and tailgated for a couple of hours - no hassles whatsoever, but we were discreet with beers, etc. Having said that, this was for Steely Dan - can't be sure if it will be different for ABB. We even smoked up inside, again discreetly, and so were others, no problems.

I am trying to rally a buddy to hit the lawn again for this show. If not, enjoy everyone. I will be at Jones Beach the next night. Hope Gregg is feeling better.

Barb, you might not get a choice as to where to park. As of now it looks like this show is going to be quite a bit undersold, so that may help.

But, if there's any kind of crowd or if you just happen to arrive at a peak time you might not have any say in the parking decision.

The only other time I was there we got there early and they parked us in a grass field away from the venue. The dirt road that connected us became an extension of the shakedown that started in our lot, so that made it impossible to move the car even if the parking staff had allowed it.

I'm not sure if that lot is still grass or if it's been paved over.

Anybody else hoping for a cover of a classic Stax Isaac Hayes/David Porter tune tomorrow night? I'd love to hear "When Something is Wrong with My Baby."

Site says the lot opens at 3, so we're aiming to get up there between 3 and 4.
