That smoked!!! Where was that from?
That trumpet sounds great on here. Nice interplay between that and Joe's guitar.

Grace Potter, Joe Satriani, Steve Kimock, Reed Mathis, Willy Waldman and Stephen Perkins cover Cortez the Killer at the Jammy's.

Yeah, that was nice. Odd seeing Kimock on a stage without hearing much from him, though.

Lately I've been re-discovering my appreciation for Satriani and Vai. Dug 'em as a late teen/early 20-something, but sort of turned my back on them when I got away from metal and more into blues, jazz and progressive rock. Having been listening to a lot of the hardcore fusion players in the last few years, it's easy to fit guys like Satriani and Vai right into that group.

If anybody gets MSG network on their satellite or cable they've televised this edition of the Jammy's in two or three parts and still do usually late nite around the weekends and this particular jam sounds great thru the old surround.

Thanks Kenny for posting this. Has anybody seen or heard from Eddie P. lately??? I wonder what he'd think about his idol Kimmock slumming with that godawful Joe Satriani?

Hey Droogie, you need to pick up Paul Gilbert's last two CD's!!! They're easily the two best instramental CD's I've heard in a loooooooong time. Jazzzz, jam, blooze, rock, shred, what the 'F" ever - there will always be a market for those freaks of nature who can play the guitar like nobody else. The Allman's used to be that way and now with Derek Trucks once again the ABB have something to offer in the great guitar category.

I was into both back in the day as well. Amazing players, but these days I can only listen to so much "Shredding" before I go bonkers. I dig Kimock as well...saw him with Zero a few years ago at Gathering of The Vibes and both he and the rest of the band were fantastic.

This is excellent.....sweet!

I saw a video of Grace singing Cortez with Warren at a prior Jammy's.

She recently opened for Dave Matthews and I was hoping they would join together for another version but it never happened.
