The "final four"...

Mick Fleetwood
John McVie
Lindsey Buckingham
Stevie Nicks

with most likely the "mini-Mac" additional musicians (same people they had in 2003):

Brett Tuggle: keyboards
Neale Haywood & Carlos Rios: guitars
Taku Hirano: percussion

And, most likely, Stevie's background singers:
Sharon Celani
Lori Perry
Jana Anderson

going by an interview w/Buckingham that i read in Classic Rock,it's him,John,Mick & Stevie..he said they were'nt replacing Christine...just the basic 4 pc. ....

chiliD beat me,LOL.....

Buckingham also said that Sheryl Crow was considered to join the band for the tour...but,she announced that new's & it upset Stevie pretty bad.....guess they had'nt fully decided on that yet.....apparently Stevie & Sheryl were good friend's & that put a strain on their relationship...so,Sheryl's out...

I got to see them on the last 2 tours (The Dance in 1997 w/ Christine at the Meadows in Hartford, CT and the Say You Will tour 2003 at the Worcester Centrum). Always enjoyed Lindsey. I love his new solo CD GIFT OF SCREWS. I enjoy just about all the Mac Phases (the Peter Green years, The Bob Welch years, the Buckingham/ Nicks years, the Billy Burnette/Rick Vito Years). This upcoming tour is different in the sense that they aren't promoting a new CD.

They were outstanding when I saw them three or four years ago. Christie McVie wasn't in the band but I didn't really notice any difference. The first time I saw them live, Lindsey Buckingham wasn't in the band and Christie was and I thought they were terrible. He is an amazing live guitar player. The only difference without Christie is that they leave out a couple of songs that she did lead vocals on.

This song has always been the show stopper to me at a Fleetwood Mac show. I personally think it is one of the best guitar solos ever.

Announcing Fleetwood Mac

We knew a big tour announcement was coming but we didn't know what it was until now. Ready? Fleetwood Mac.
The supergroup has reunited - again - and is launching its tour at Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena March 1. The tour coincides with a new greatest hits compilation called Unleashed that contains never before seen footage and previously unreleased tracks.
"We love our band and think the title of the tour, 'Unleashed,' perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together, especially in 2009," the band said in a joint statement. ""We're so happy to get back out on the road, perform everyone's favorite songs and see our fans."
The statement does not list the members, but it's assumed Fleetwood Mac is certainly the famed roll call of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Christine McVie left the group in 1997 and her name isn't mentioned in the release.
Tickets for the Live Nation-produced tour go on sale Dec. 15. Dates include Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., Boston, New York, Montreal and Toronto. The jaunt is so far booked through March 26.

Saw the 1997 reunion. Awesome show. I would love to see them head back out with Christine and no other musicians, ala 1975 - 1982. The youtube of the stuff from 1975 & 1976 is awesome. I love the blues and can respect the love for early Fleetwood Mac, but that version of Mac was one of the all time great bands at that time.

Well, true to form, WB is re-re-re-re-releasing another "special deluxe" version of Rumours to coincide with the tour. {yawn!} A CD/DVD set with album bonus tracks on the CD and a DVD of previously unreleased live material from the Rumours era. (ok, so maybe the DVD will be worth getting a 10th version of Rumours)

Talk about whippin' a dead horse...again, Fleetwood Mac tours to promote Rumours. Haven't they been doing that for over 30 years already?? How about releasing a 30th anniversary set of TUSK instead??

Let's hope they do the smart thing and play some tunes in concert that they plan to record for their supposedly upcoming NEW album.

I can't believe that they let 2007 go by with some big 40th Anniversary splash.

I do like the re-issue of TUSK which came out in 2004. Contains a whole second CD of Bonus material/Demos, roughs and outtakes. Now, if they'll just get around to putting out re-issues of Mirage and Tango in the Night with all the bonus tracks, b-sides and outtakes included life would be good.

so are we sure a new album is coming out in 2009? if its anythign like "say you will" i won't be too excited. its a shame lindsey buckingham releases great solo albums lately and steve nicks newer stuff is pretty good too and then they get together and release an album with 4 good songs

No new studio album in 2009, just UNLEASHED, a new greatest hits package with some previously unreleased tracks. The tour is also being called UNLEASHED. Supposedly AFTER the tour Lindsey says they'll start working on a new CD.

I liked Say you Will but it was very apparent (from listening to it) which songs were taken from Lindsey's solo Lp in progess at the time.

Yeah, like all 9 of 'em. Well, maybe "What's The World Coming To?" might not have been one, but that's about it. All the others were leaked out unofficially (the supposedly original unreleased Gift Of Screws album from 1999), or officially released on some benefit compilation album ("Peacekeeper"), in some form.

With the official Gift Of Screws album now released, all songs from that original Gift Of Screws collection have now been officially released between FMac's Say You Will & Lindsey's Under The Skin albums

so will this be another lindsey solo album or a fleetwood mac album? gift of screws was the best album of 2008 even though it was in the making for 10 years

what happened to the huge rumour fleetwood mac would release a wal mart only studio album in 2009?

A Fleetwood Mac album. Depending on how Lindsey & Stevie get along during the tour will probably dictate whether they actually DO the album. But, I think they'd probably get it done by the 2009 Christmas sales season. From what I've read, the WalMart exclusive distribution deal is done, they just have to get the album recorded and released.

Short list of dates. I wonder if that's the over/under on Stevie and Lindsey getting along...
