I pulled out the cd I have of his a little while ago. Its so good. He does the mario theme on there, a great version of that as well. Thanks for posting it Brian. That was still one of the coolest shows I've ever been to.

I have finally made peace with Frank after I pissed him off pretty good when he came and played with Bucky Pizzarelli at the shop. Now I can enjoy his music again.

Quick story: Bucky Pizzarelli is an amazing musician and profoundly interesting to meet. I helped carry his instruments up to the Wagon Shed for their performance. He has this beautiful seven string signature Benedetto. While I am carefully setting it out for him he pulls out this old Goya nylon string guitar and begins to play this beautiful music. It's just he & I in the performance room and he watches me the whole time he is playing. I finally sat down so that his attention didn't have to be diverted by me walking around. There must have been thirty people in the waiting room below us waiting for the concert to start. You could hear them talking loudly. None of them could hear his music. Just me. And he played for me. It must have been fifteen minutes straight. Only I could hear it. That whole time no one came up the stairs. Three feet away from a legend playing whatever came to mind looking at me as if to somehow instill that knowledge he has. I became a fan that night.

Well, I can finally say it now that it is resolved where I had only alluded to it before. I worked at a lutherie shop where we have a very tight relationship with a lot of pretty well known musicians, including Frank. He brought Bucky to play with him back in February. I assisted in setting up for the show by handling their instruments, converting the store front in to a reception area and other odds and ends roadie type functions. Anyway, I recorded the show with my handheld recorder, in addition to the shop owner and booking agent video recording and audio recording it with their own equipment. The guest I was sitting next to said something to Bucky afterward about it. Unbeknownst to me Bucky really should not have been there (officially) as he is under contract for performances with a very well known company. So it was sort of off the books. This sort of threw Bucky out of sorts and he said something to Frank, who in turn told the shop owner that he would not come back to play there any more because "the employees were out of control."

Eventually everyone simmered down and we ironed it out. I have spoken with Frank since then and he and Bucky hold no contention against me or the shop. And Frank has since been back to the shop to perform and shoot more recordings (he shot an official demo video at the shop last year and it was incredible!). Here are some pictures from that night:

The building is an old carriage barn that was to be knocked down. 90% of the wood is salvaged from that structure. It was torn down and moved to this location in New Freedom, PA and then rebuilt in to a new building that has three instructional studios downstairs and the concert venue, or "Wagon Shed" upstairs.
