....has great reflexes as demonstrated with the shoe throwing incident.

Just looking to establish a baseline.

I agree, actually. That was first thing I said after "whoa" the first time I saw it.

Did you notice the look on Bush's face when he came back up from the first duck? For a second he had a look of "You got another one? C'mon, c'mon..."

I'm sure he's been anticipating worse than a shoe being thrown at him.

I detected a grin after the first one, as if he saw the whole thing as a joke.

I guess this guy is becoming a folk hero in Iraq, as hundreds demonstrate for his release.

The shoe heard round the world! Gotta love it!!

George W Bush's Legacy = Good ducking reflexes. That is about the only positive thing you can say about GW and his failed administration. The rest of his negative legacy is too long to list here.

Those ducking reflexes will come in very handy if Bush plans on going on any hunting trips with DICK Cheney!

I do think that no one should be throwing things at our President, and the situation there is indeed complicated with overbubbling emotion. Still, I'm also getting a lot of humor out of this. Each has their own POV, I guess.

he's had a lot of practice dodging accountability and responsibility the last 8 years. But seriously wouldn't you think the Secret Service guy would have reacted after the first shoe or maybe there was no Secret Service guys there?

Oh, they were there. Just asleep at the wheel. There are more asses than the Iraqi that got kicked over that one.

I did think his expression was funny. Like - wtf?

At least he learned something while sitting in the Rangers' owner's box, how to avoid a wild pitch! Glad the shoes missed.

A damn shoe can hurt..LOL !

I was at a Green Day show around 12 years ago. It was in a big building. Some idiot threw about a size 12 Chuck Taylor through the air from about 50 yards away. I was with my Sis and Daughter. My Sister said the shoe sailed high through the air, all the way from across the building. Of all people I had to be the one that got hit upside the head. It almost knocked me down, I did stumble around a bit..LOL !. I ask her why didn't she warn me, She said "She was to busy watching it and did not think it was going to hit me.

She knew it was going to..LOL !...she was probably thinking of all the years I picked on her.

It could have been worse. The owners foot couls have still been in it.

Yeah, that would have been even worse.

I got a laugh out of this too, but I agree with you. No matter how bad our president has been in the past, none of them deserve to be treated like that.

Wait until the first shoe gets thrown at Obama, or Beiden. All hell will brake loose!

I too have gotten miles of comedic value out of this.

I too think his reflexes were quite good ducking the shoe. It would've hurt had it connected.

All I could think of when I saw this was the end of the first Austin Powers movie, when the Oddjob character shows up on their honeymoon and throws at shoe at him.

"You fight like a woman! Honestly, who throws a shoe?!?!?" Classic.
