My favorite football team is the Detroit Lions. The reason for this is because I was born and raised in Michigan and so at a young age I started rooting for the Lions. Now during my youngest years the Lions were a team that was always in the playoff picture with Barry Sanders, Herman Moore and a defense that is better than today and numerous QBs my favorite being Scott Mitchel. Oh how I miss those days. I continue to be a Lions fan because Im a loyal fan. I dont want an 0-16 season because that would be embarrassing. With the right management and coaching this team could be a winning team soon. Im liking Orlovsky at QB and Calvin Johnson is a good reciever plus we have Jason Hanson the best kicker in the league. Go Lions

#4 here....another Steelers fan (30+ years and counting). Back in high school my best friend was a Cowboys fan and I discovered the Steelers. I grew up with Bradshaw, Franco, Lambert, Swan, Stallworth and the other greats. What I liked was they were one of the few teams ever to win a championship with homegrown talent. One of their Super Bowl teams had players that had never played for another team. Now we have Big Ben and it looks like he'll be around for awhile. And we might even be the first team to win 6 Super Bowls

Thanks for the great offer

#5 - NYG fan here. I live 20 minutes from the Meadowlands and have had season tickets since I was a kid so I have been a fan all my life. What do I love about the Giants......everything.LOL! The Giant franchise was always Defense first and that what I always loved about them. Its hard nosed football. They usually win with good defense and pounding the ball. Not alot of razzle dazzle, just smash mouth football. Next to my family and God, the Giants are a very close thrid in my life. Many thanks for the offer!!!!

#1 seed here we come!!

#7 - great offer & thanks! Congrats to Matt and his team!

I'm a long-time fan of the NE Patriots who have overcome more cr*p in the history of any AFL/NFL/AFC/NFC to claim a spot as one of the elite teams of pro football history.

What other team has had as many places as their 'home field'? Has had as many names (3 in one year!)? Has endured a stadium built on a shoestring by an owner who was teetering on the edge of bankruptcy? (Only locals remember the 'urinal flush test' two days before the opening of Shafer Stadium.)

Now with a stable ownership, stable mangement, stable coaching, they have been able to concentrate on the game and accomplish tremedous things. And while they may not make the playoffs this year, they are certainly in the mix despite the loss of 14(!) starters to injury.

And since we're on the subject, please allow me a moment of pride - or maybe sour grapes? Although the NYG were certainly the best team on the field for the Suoer Bowl, they should remember that they were two minutes away from defeat. Two minutes where surely the football gods were on thier side - including one cr*ppy penalty call, one sure-thing interception that was missed and one magical helmet catch. And congrats to the current champs.

great idea and concept for a BNP. i have missed a slot but wanted to chime in on
my fav The Baltimore Colts! i was born in '57 the year before the "greatest game
ever played" occured. obvioulsy i don't remember it but my dad, my uncles,
my parents friends all did and they loved the Colts. i heard all the stores about the
upstart Colts beating the mighty Giants. i idolized Johnny Unitas, and what kid living
within a 200 mile radius of Baltimore didn't? our Colts were good guys, salt of
the earth, blue collar guys, Raymond Barry, Lenny Moore, Jim Parker, and and on..
we had real heros in those days and for my generation in little Hanover Pa the
men that represented the Colts were the best ever. we also had other great
sports heros in Baltimore. the Orioles with Boog and Brooks and Frank, not to
mention the Bullets with Earl the Pearl, Gus Johnson, and Wes. alas all we really
have left of that great era are the Orioles. it's a little sad really because you lose
some of your childhoold when the teams you loved pack up and move out of town.
but hey, i'm happy to have had those memories and be associated with class acts
in the personal that made up those teams and the organization themselves.
Bring Back the Bullets, and the Colts to BALTIMORE!!

Ted, thought you and other Steeler fans would appreciate this. This is me in my basement, I've added some more Steelers McFarlane figurines and you probably can't make it out, but that small framed picture of Terry Bradshaw is autographed by the man

NICE! I noticed that smart-a** linebacker from the Titans stomping on a Terrible Towel after the game yesterday. He'll get his in about 4 weeks. I remember some Bengals doing the same thing a few years back, look what happened to them.

I saw that too

I'm sure the team has heard about it by now. The Steelers have proven before that they are a road playoff team. Should be some matchups in the coming weeks
