Does anyone know if this is a one-off show or if they plan on staying together as a band for a while?

Man, it's great to see all this music returning to Macon. I've been raving about the Georgia music scene ever since my visit last October. Sonny Moorman, and I both agree we are in the wrong state. I'm really starting to think that I may be moving south in the near future.

I recently read about Trigger Hippy and that they'd be playing at the Capitol. We're definitely going to try to make this, if possible.

Thanks for the updates on the upcoming shows, Kirk! Macon has has made great progress in recent years to return the music to the city... thanks for a few great folks.

I hope everyone will try to make the Big House fundraiser on January 31. It's always a great night of music and fun, and for a great cause.

Boy it sounds like A Lot of dynamite music down there -- thanks for the post Kirk -- Macon does sound like a happening little town -- that series looks a corker

Trigger Hippie is the name of one of my Fave songs from Morcheeba's "Who Can You Trust" CD!

heres the annoucement that is on jambase, with some good news at the end:

quote:
Trigger Hippy - comprised of drummer Steve Gorman (The Black Crowes), guitarist Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic), guitarist Audley Freed (Jakob Dylan, ex-Crowes, Blue Floyd) and bassist-singer Nick Govrik - will make their live debut on Saturday, February 7 in Macon, Georgia as part of the Cox Capitol Theatre's "Stay And Play Concert Series," whose past participants include Chuck Leavell. A portion of the proceeds will go towards The Big House, the Allman Brothers Band museum set to open summer 2009.

"It's backbeat jammin'. We've got some Freddie King, Al Green, Koko Taylor, Little Feat, Neil Young, Beatles, and really anything in this realm is fair game," Gorman tells JamBase. The new group will convene whenever their busy schedules allow but they're excited after a couple sweaty, promising rehearsals. "This is just the first show, this thing will continue!"

The band plans to record the Cox Capitol Theatre show and stream it on their forthcoming website so folks who can't make it to Macon can still get their Hippy fill.

Wish I'd known about this ages ago. Don't know if you guys realize this, but this is the same night of the Macon Blues Festival at the Centreplex featuring Bobby "Blue" Bland plus many others.

I know that I and several others have had tickets to this for a while now. Now I'm really in a quandary!!
