I can appreciate someone learning, but calling yourself "The Mojo Priest" and touring would make a potential concert goer have some minimum set of expectations.
This guy's playing seems to be on par with his acting.
This clip is short but painful.

I bet he gets a spot at the Beacon shows or he'll kick he manager's ass.

You know what's scary? It actually happened in April 2000 (1st post-Beacon shows, I think). No fooling.

Have you seen any of his later movies? I think the ass is about as high as his kicks can reach.

Personal opinion:
I don't have much positive to say about Steven's playing (In fact, I turned down a request to work with him about 2 years ago), but Bruce is a long time personal acquaintance and, besides his being a great guy, I have always felt his harp playing to be at least as good as, if not superior to, many of the 'professional' harmonica players I have worked with thru the last 30 years.

Agreed. maybe we could compare Steven's playing to Bob Weir's singing...

Some comments on youtube say it was sound dubbed to make him sound worse, a joke. It does seem a bit out of synch, maybe? I don't think he is much better, but?

He did jam with the ABB in New Orleans in late 98 or 99. There is some photos on this site of him jamming with Dickey & Derek.

Segal does for guitar playing what Warren and Derek have done for the martial arts film genre..... That was REALLY REALLY bad I'm not sure if the self professed "blues Miyagi" or whatever he calls himself knows the pentatonic scale. I think I would prefer seeing a movie with Warren and Derek whipping out some aikido and saving a battleship from terrorists before hearing that train wreck again.

I'm actually POed that someone would give that guy a stage to perform on when there are literally thousands of talented musicians who are overlooked for some overweight washed up actor and his vanity project. Once again, actors and musicians should remain mutually exclusive (except Gregg in "Rush"...he was awesome in that movie )
