Was thinking of this yesterday walking down by the river at lunch listening to the 3.13.06 show on the ipod. (Nice way to not think about work for an hour!) What songs best represent the ABB sound and feel, there are many but here are my 5 in no particular order, anyone else have an idea?

1. Liz Reed (FE version)
2. Whipping Post (FE version)
3. Jessica
4. Midnight Rider
5. Ain't Wastin' Time No More

I can't pick just 5 but I know DREAMS would make the list.

This is hard as 5 songs can sum up many different elements and styles of the band.

Whipping Post
Dreams
IMOER
Mountain Jam
Blue Sky

aka the most obvious tunes that non-fans even know, thanks to regular FM airplay, and that cheap 1-disc Greatest Hits CD (Decade of Hits):

Whippen Post
Ramblin Man
One Way Out
Blue Sky
Midnite Rider
Statesborough Blues

Might want to throw Stormy Monday in there somewhere. For some blues.

Some pretty good lists.

This is really subjective, depends on just who is doing the "summing up"

1~ Stormy Monday.......This song defines their passion
2~ Dimples......Too bad they didn't play this more often
3~ Done somebody wrong.... try not to stomp your feet
4~ You don't love me....The ultimate for "stretching it out"
5~ Hot 'lanta...an original tune with the Hammond & Leslie

Boy this is a hard one, so many good choices that could be made, anyway here's my five (with a little cheating involved )

1. Don't Want You No More/Not My Cross to Bear (the definitive ABB opening song)
2. Stormy Monday (so many good choices as the ABB always does justice to the blues, but I'll pick this one)
3. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (great song with tremendous passion to it)
4. Dreams (the ultimate "slide" song, from Duane to Derek, all of the ABB "slide masters" have delivered great versions of it)
5. Whipping Post/Mountian Jam (These two songs work so well together and says everything you need to know about the ABB)

2. Whipping Post
3. Dreams

Interesting how Ramblin' Man has only made one person's list when that's probably their most successful commercial single.

Mine:
1. Whipping Post
2. Blue Sky
3. Dreams
4. Ain't Wastin' Time No More
5. IMOER
