They called Jackie Gleason "The Great One". In baseball it was Roberto Clemente. How about music? I nomanate Duane Allman as "The Great One". Anyone second it?

Wayne Gretzky was "The Great One".

Mario Lemieux was "the Better One".

Bobo never did agree with me on that.

That's like trying to choose between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Not a problem I'll have in the foreseeable future....

...go back to Gretzky vs. Lemieux for a second....I say Gretzky. Many say that if Lemieux had not been injured, he would have surpassed the Great One's marks. But it's all irrelevant; the greatest anything could exist and we don't even know it. Gretzky put up staggering numbers season after season...

No contest, Gretzky is the only Great One.

Mario was super. Part of Waynes greatness was that he was healthy, besides, he was just better than everyone else. Having great teammates helps, too. Let's face it, though, hockey was Waynes World.

I would give Gretzky the edge with Lemieux a close second. One stat that I just discovered is that Gretzky is the career leader in shorthanded goals while Lemieux is the season leader in shorthanded goals. Also one Lemieux record that will never be surpassed is he scored 5 goals in a game five different ways. 1)Even strength, 2)power play, 3) shorthanded, 4) penalty shot, 5)empty net. Wow. I am from Philly and what about Eric Lindros being labeled the Next One. He turned out to be the No One.
