We’re the folks from the bar next to the Beacon Theater with the bear out front (Yogi's, Bear Bar, B-A-R). It's been a longstanding tradition to come to the bar before and after the Allman Brothers concerts. Sad news, we lost our lease and the building is coming down. We tried to find another space nearby so we could continue the tradition, but so far, it was not to be.

We want to say thank you to the fans, the crew and to the Allman Brothers Band for being part of our lives for so many years and making them special. We are grateful for the fun & the laughs and thankful for the amazing music that brought us all together. We hope we helped make your Allman’s experiences memorable and eventful and that the time you've spent with us will always make you smile. The special bond between the Beacon concert series and our bar will always remain.

We will continue to look for a place in the neighborhood and hope to bring the bear out of hibernation next year. We have 2 other bars in town and will honor the tradition. They will have the same great prices ($2 PBRs, $6.50 pitchers), hot rockin’ staff and blasting Allman Brothers Band music on the jukeboxes. PARTY ON!!

THE PATRIOT, 110 Chambers Street at Church Street (212) 748-1162
THE DUCK, 2171 2nd Avenue at 111th Street (212) 427-1070

Look for the bear next year!
Tom & Chardee

I have only been to the Beacon one year, and we spent many hours at Yogis.

What a firendly place.

Great music, good cheap cold beer.

And the barmaids were.........................................

very efficient.

Thanks to Yogis, I missed my train and had to spend another night in NYC.

I'm the guy in the middle.

It was a sad day when the announcement was made that Yogi's was closing. I don't even drink (anymore) and I always felt welcome and had a great time there. Thanks for making all of us ABB fanatics feel welcome-there are a lot of places where we wouldn't have been.

Good luck finding a new place!

I was crushed to hear this would not be a part of this year's Beacon experience. It will be missed.

Spent a lot of time in there during Beacon 2007. Closed it down on Friday and Saturday night on March 30th and 31st...

Thanks so much to Tom and Chardee for coming here to ABB.com to let us know how much they're gonna miss the fans and the music. We owe it to them and to the spirit of Yogi's to patronize one of their other establishments while in Manhattan for the Beacon.

THANK YOU for stopping by! Having gone to Beacon every year since 1997 or 1998 (ok I really can't remember, in part because of Yogi's , but it's been about 10 years in a row...), I have spent many days, nights and even mornings at Yogi's with so many fine people from this site.

Thank you for providing such a great place for us to hang out, the atmosphere and the people were second to none.

Please let us know when the "new" Yogi's is in town....best of luck you you.

The Patriot is awesome. Many of the same barmaids work there.

Yogis rules, I was pround to drink there for the last 2 days it was open.

Even my liver was sad to see this place close.

While I'm sorry to not be going to the Beacon this year, I am thankful that I went in '07 for 4 shows, and got the full experience that included Yogi's. It was nice to have a comfortable place to hang out, especially on the day my concert bud had to go home and I was solo. It did my ego good to have one of the barmaids compliment me on my "big one." Vocabulary, you pervs!

I'm not gonna make it to NYC this year either. But at least one night during the Beacon run I'm going to my local bar here in Michigan and loading the jukebox with ABB songs. Then I'm gonna try to talk the barmaid out of her shirt. It will be my little tribute to Yogi's.
