What a find!

I am still .. always - a bit perplexed about Stillwater. I know there was a Macon area band with that name. Is this the same band that played at Woodstock?

I won't even bring up the fictional Stillwater from "Almost Famous". Damn! I just did!

Great LP...great price. Sea Level's Grand Larceny is spectacular on this LP. You being a drummer, hope you listen and give me an opinion but to me thats some of the finest drumming I've ever heard .

When I bought that album back in the 70s when it came out, I was ticked that the ABB, Gregg solo and MTB (and maybe the WW, can't remember) songs were the same ones from other albums that had been released. You think they could have dug in the vaults a little. And it was released just to get some quick cash for Capricorn who was going under quickly, but still.

I cut this to a cd from the lp a while back, nice to hear it on the ipod when it rotates through.

I met the Stillwater guys in about 1977/78. I was ridding around with John Samuelson of the band Roundhouse that later became Doc Holiday. We sold them some ..., well better not go into that! Anyway, later Roundhouse snuck me into the 6th Annual Capricorn Records picnic and three bands played that day, first was Stillwater, then the Dixie Dregs followed by Black Oak. Stillwater's big "hit" was "Mind Bender" with the lines something like "Mama was Gibson, Daddy was a Fender, that's why they called me Mind Bender." I'm not sure if they were Macon based or Warner Robbins based like Roundhouse. Both towns are pretty close together though.

I bought a Circus or Creem magazine from the 70's at a yard sale, it was a Janis Joplin tribute issue, inside the magazine was a tear-out plastic page pressed into a record that has 2 unreleased Janis songs, not on any album, all for 25 cents !!!
