If you look closely at the dates, you will see quite a few open days....by no means is this the final summer schedule. They haven't announced the Red Rocks dates yet either.

I would bet they are trying to work out a Fox run and that's why there's been no announcement yet. I hope I'm right...

Don't worry. The dates announced are only the WP co-bill shows, meaning Atl will likely get evening with shows. Chastain was great, but the Fox is what I'm pulling for. Early last year, when we were discussing 08 Atlanta venues, Lana was quick to take the Fox out of the range of options before Chastain was later announced. Almost like the ABB was saving the Fox for some special occasion....

Sure would be great to see Macon added too.

We haven't been to HotLanta in 10+ years. I'll take a Fox run and bypass Raleigh.

You won't regret it....the Fox is a work of art.

Agreed. As much as I love the Beacon, the '04 Fox run was better IMO.

It's supposed to be an absolutely gorgeous venue.

I'm really not trying to get my hopes up, but another Fox run would be amazing.

A three night run at the Fox much like 2004 would be nice.

I just wish they would announce the Atlanta dates so I don't spend all my money on other shows and not get to go to Atlanta where I'd rather see them.

They did five nights in '98, so let's split the difference and clamber for four.

The ABB has not missed Atlanta in the last 20 years, so set aside your money. It will happen, and if I'm wrong, you may hold me up to scorn and ridicule!

Totally agree, of course. It would also be great PR for the Allman Brothers museum opening at the Big House in December. Some Maconites would be more supportive of the museum if the band actually ever played in Macon. (Of course, I'll be in Atlanta to see them, no matter what!)

Brock...I was thinking the same thing. Macon has to be included this year! Several years ago they did a 5 night run at the old Macon City Auditorium. That would be cool. As I understand it, it was to be recorded for what eventually became the two live releases. Those releases though were from the Orpheum. I was told but never confirmed that someone didn't like the Macon recordings so they recorded Boston.

Macon was my first ABB show in spring of 71 and my only Duane show! My 2nd Macon show was, I believe, at the City Auditorium, with Chuck and the 3rd was with Lamar added. Only 1 since at that 5 night run around 85 or 86. One Columbus show (only bad 1 I've seen...Gregg was really messed up), and about 30 Atlanta shows. One day I'll have to go out of state!

Fox would be cool but how about a mini Beacon run at The Tabernacle!

I did two of those nights in Macon back in December '91! What I heard is that the quality of the tapes was not acceptable for release. However, on "Evening With" it does list Macon among the shows recorded for release. Those were some fantastic shows with the Warren/Woody band really starting to fire on all cylinders . . .

IIRC, not only are Atlanta dates usually later in the season, but they're frequently announced later than the bulk of the Summer run, so . . . no worries.

I was at the 12-31-91 show. I remember hearing beforehand that they were to be recorded for an album, so I was disappointed the tapes did not turn out well for 1st Set. Since they did list Macon on it, I've always wondered if some song(s) from there did make the album. Either way, it was a good time in the City Auditorium that night. It was 12-28-31, 4 shows. I did not remember that, but I have the tshirt from Piedmont that lists all GA shows, a wearable database!

Would love to see a Macon run at the City Auditorium. I saw several of those shows back in '91. And one back in the summer of '89 (not sure of the year). But they were hittin' it that night....got me back into music after a few years of lackluster interest.

What would be great final show of the 40th anniversary year would be a free show on an October Sunday afternoon at Central City Park in Macon!!!
