If they both play a full set, does it really matter?

Not really, just wanted to help anyone out who can leave early when the ABB opens. Or get there a little later when the ABB closes the show. Not everyone is a spreadhead.

I thought with the previous co-headling tours that the ABB has done that the second band typically got an extra half hour or so. But it's not even that.....particularly at the sheds being outdoors, the atmosphere just isn't the same with the sun still out and the house half-empty as people are filing in late after rush hour traffic or partying in the parking lot. The night-time set by the second band always seems to have more energy.

As for me, I hope the ABB closes the night(s) I see them this summer. I'm not much of a Panic fan, but I've been wanting to catch them with Jimmy in the band, so I view this as that opportunity. I'm a huge Jimmy fan, and I think this band is the only one he's been in that I haven't seen (at least with him in the band). (Well, that and maybe the band he did with the former Phil & Friends keyboard player...Dragonflys or something.)

Just curious as to the origin of this list. Is it a reliable source and all that?

I'm with Zambi...seems like the second band gets more of the full venue effect. I would like to think that the fans of these two bands will appreciate the music of both acts and that it won't matter too much who goes on first as far as when people head in.

Having said that, if the Allmans were going on first, obviously I wouldn't miss a note. With Panic, well...I won't be heartbroken if I'm not in my seat from the get-go.

Jones Beach site has the ABB listed as the headliner, so I would assume they are closing there.

It says on the front page of the site who is opening & closing what show. The Allmans are closing in Dallas, which is great news because if they went on first, then Widespread Panic might have a tough time going on second.
