How about some love for this old one ? Had a fair bit of driving to do on the weekend popped 2nd. set into the player and was pleasantly reminded how good this album is...sparkling B3 from Gregg to say nothing of his vocals. Probably the best Nobody Knows ever ( go Dickey ) and Get on With Your Life & End Of The Line are definitely not too shabby either.

Not to mention the version of IMOER which is off the hook. Enjoy that whole album.

I have a special place in my heart for all those albums from the 90s (SEVEN TURNS, SHADES OF TWO WORLDS, FIRST SET, SECOND SET and WHERE IT ALL BEGINS).

The ABB was back, making great music, writing great songs. Great new musicians (Woody, Haynes, Neil, Quinones) working with the established musicians. Dickey was especially on fire in those days!!!

Somehow, they managed to capture all the excitement and spirit on disc (in full DDD digital, too!!) There was so much inspired music on the "blue" album as well as the "red" live album.

Those were the days!!

Hey Jack, those songs are on the First Set release.

And I agree, Nobody Knows sounds great.

Although I still like the studio version better from Shade of Two Worlds.

Wayne, had a senior moment I guess and put 2nd. when I meant 1st.Set. Too many hours awake ...now I 'll have to go dig out the real 2nd. set and listen to IMOER as James mentioned....never get tired of all the versions of that one.

IMOER - just incredible. A staple in my ipod. Arguabley the best version of that song you will hear either acoustically or plugged in - IMO. Dickey at his best!

The acoustic Liz Reed from the 3.20.98 Beacon show with Dickey and Jack is even better than the one from 2nd Set, for me anyway.

Seek out boot "Songs From The Road" (I believe it is, have to check at house) that is soundboard from that era, outakes from 1st or 2nd set, can't remember. It smokes!

It is from the 2nd Set show Tony, and your right, it smokes. (Except where Popper sits in on One Way Out) One of the best sounding boots out there.

I too had 1st & 2nd set in the car this weekend for driving purposes and I always think when listening to these two that this was the "Power" version of the ABB. The band sounds loud & dangerous on these two , like a biker gang that has some great music chops and they're just set loose. Kinda like Dickey's words on 1st , "If ya don't hear what ya want , well that's tough !! "

Love both of these great live recordings. Also the Jessica from 2nd set won the Brothers a Grammy along with Paul Riddle who was sitting in for Jaimoe on that version! It was a favorite Jessica along with the 1973 version from Wipe the Windows UNTIL I heard the Jazzfest 2007 show with Chuck! Man that show has stayed in the cd player in my wife's car for over a year! NO matter how bad traffic is or a trip is going, that song just puts me in a happy place!!!
