Dicky betts was scheduled to play in Rochester, NY on this Thursday and he just cancelled. For personal reasons. Being replaced by Molly Hatchet instead. It was to be a free show downtown.

Hopefully everything is ok...but that's a horrible trade off.

I hear he's complaining about a burning sensation in his ears.

For some reason I feel disgusted and insulted at the same time.

Slim did you know $500.00 will get your head blowed off? (Also I assume Molly Hatchet to play your HS prom for that amount.) Well it will ... he he

I think they have more original members than those "Gravy Train" riders who currently masquerade as Lynyrd Skynyrd.

A quick check shows that MH currently has one original member.

Thanks for the clarification, I guess that makes them both State Fair acts.

Does Molly Hatchet play with Kid Rock too?... If not, they should... just look at all of the "exposure" Dickey Betts and Lynyrd Skynyrd have received....

Last time I saw Great Southern at Westbury Music Fair Molly Hatchet opened up and I would have given Great Southern a C- and Molly Hatchet job would have gotten an F-. One of the most forgettable nights of music I can remember. I have heard that Great Southern have improved since then, but on that night Pedro was the only musician worth seeing and hearing.

Show Dickey a little respect, would you folks ? I seldomly get on these sites anymore, and I'm not one of those people who looks at every DBGS show through rose-colored glasses, or gushes about every DBGS show as being a transcendent experience, or takes every opportunity to bash the present ABB line-up. Dickey's going to be, I think, 65 or 66 on his next birthday. He fronts his own band (unlike the other 3 remaining original members, no disrespect to Gregg Allman), and has been playing more dates and maintaining a more rigorous touring schedule the last few years than has the ABB. There ought to be a little more concern about his well-being and a little less speculation about his personal faux pas, in my opinion. So what if he's made some mistakes. So has the rest of the band. So have all of us. Musically, the worst show I've ever seen Dickey play could probably be classified as average. The majority have been outstanding. Give the dude some respect, he's one of the few remaining links to that bygone era about which most of you like to so rhapsodically wax.
