Hey all-

Anybody else ever hear this band? I saw them tonight in Atlanta and they are some of the finest musicians I have ever seen. They have sort of like a bluegrass-jazz-rockabilly blended style and are unreal.

They're a great band from CA. I caught them at Merlefest a couple years ago with Bobby Weir sitting in.

Saw them at Merlefest this yr, where they played Sticky Fingers w/ Sam Bush on guitar throughout and Emmylou sat in on Wild Horses. Good fun. Wish I'd seen them do Zep II form 08.

Edit, just got this email from my friend who's going to Dylan w/ me Thurs. Think he liked it too!

OMG we saw the hottest show last night -- the perfect combination -- The Waybacks at Eddie's Attic. Perfect venue, 150 or so packed in that tiny room w/ the boys just blistering. In my book there's only 2 guitar players under 60 better than James Nash, and you know who they are. They tore up their songs plus great covers -- Shady Grove, Brown-Eyed Women and a sublime Dupree's Diamond Blues. Claire said it was the best live music she had ever heard and I have to put it way up there. Intimacy and virtuosity! All for $15 a ticket and sitting 15 feet from the band.

I'll try my best to enjoy Thursday, but this buzz will last a long time!

This band is really good. Real nice recent show is up for download on bt.etree.org.

They were recently on NPR and you can stream the radio show and videos on the NPR site also.

One of my friend's favorite bands. He works at Merlefest and has become buds with James Nash, the guitarist. They are evidently as nice as they are talented which is refreshing.
