WTF? Has anyone else heard this yet. I'm not sure the name of the song but I've heard it twice on the radio the last couple of days. The bass line sounds like "I was made for loving you" by kiss! It is a far cry from War Paint. I don't know about this one. Bad first impresssion of the new album by one of my all time favorite bands!

I Ain't Hiding is the name of the track and I would say my first impression was roller disco. Chris even told us to put on our roller skates at the session at Levon's I was at when it was recorded. But, it does rock later in the song - definitely one that grows on you.

Different strokes I guess, I think it's the worse song I've ever heard them play.

HAHA. We saw them Tuesday night and thought it sounded a little like ABBA.

You were there, too, Rhonda? I don't believe we've ever met, unfortunately.

That song's feel was quite a departure, but the end did jam out, as I recall.

It was a little weird being at a show and not being familiar with about half of the songs...I still enjoyed the show very much, though!

Do you think they are going for the Stones disco vibe such as the song "Miss You"?

I have heard it only once and it is different. I probably need to give it a couple of more listens before I make my final call.

I love the song. Love the Crowes. It will grow on you. Concentrate on the lyrics, that might help.
Does anybody else agree that Warpaint is one of the best albums of the last 3 years?
Or the fact that the Crowes are better now than they ever were?
Good point on the similarity to "miss you" by the Stones. No one gave the Stones a hard time for that one man?

Agreed. The lyrics are bad ass and War Paint has been in my player non stop since it came out.

I do miss the Marc Ford days but that's like saying I miss the Dickey era. You can't go back in time and what we have now is just as Stellar in a different way......for both bands.

Looking forward to the new CD and the show in central park with Levon next week.

Uh....that was my second listen, still not sure, very different sounding, not what I was expecting to follow Warpaint.Definetley has a disco feel. I just can't picture Rich and Luther playing something like this, especially Rich, oh well...

I remember when I first heard Lickin' by the Crowes and I thought, what the heck is this? But that song I really do like and I like Lions were alot of people do not.
So we will see....

I dig it. Disco is a fine genre if the songs are top-notch, and this one sure is.

Of course, I'm not saying it's disco. It's r&b, which is definitely Crowes.

Good tune.

Gave me the exact same impression. Comes across as comedy to me. Bet they have a hit and laugh all the way to the bank.

Actually they did. the Stones turned off many old fans with that, myself included. Screamed of sell-out and still does. I thought it was the worst that the Stones could do. Until Emotional Rescue came along then i realized just how wrong I could be.

Sounds like a hit song to me. It came to my emotional rescue.
Mindless and fun. Kinda what the world needs in these times.

A TE sighting! Anxiously awaiting the new release and Variety show. Is your review of the Crowes song a peek under the tent at an upcoming TE disco tune
