Anybody have anything they know that is worth downloading? Trying to fill my ipod up with some new stuff. Right now its basically all ABB, DTB, Mule and Dead live shows. Not to say I dont love them... I just think its time to try and discover some albums that i might not have heard yet.
Any Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I guess you could skip Further if you have a lot of Dead already.

NRPS have put on some killer shows this summer, also try some Junior Brown for a diversion.

Previously unreleased album from a highly underrated band that disappeared way too soon, Allgood: http://www.archive.org/details/Allgood_IV.shnf

Also, a bunch of other live Allgood:

These guys were fantastic. Nice to see they did a show in 2006.

God, I wish I could get the DL thing and my burner fixed - I'm going crazy with all this great stuff out there.

String Cheese Incident-

Never listened till last year, great band, awesome musicians....its almost a mix of bluegrass/rock/jam/fusion style. Didnt add Kyle Hollingsworth(keyboards) till around 03, he adds a lot to the band and I recomment anything after he was added.

Umphrey's McGee-

Awesome band, but not everyones cup of tea. Like all bands we like, get the live stuff and base your decision on that. They killed at Rothbury (july 4th) this year.

Railroad Earth-

I think they allow taping? Sweet bluegrass band, but can play about anything.

Jackie Greene-

Need to hear live to appreciate.

And if your into the electronic jam stuff, some of which can be really cool, but some is just techno **** , listen to these guys.

STS9- Killer drummer, seriously good.
Lotus- More like the Disco Biscuts, cool bass/guitar riffs.
EOTO- Percussion mixed with tape loop, techno style, but instruments are played throughout the sets.

If you are looking for something different I just stumbled upon an album that I am pretty much in love with right now and am trying to spread the word. It's tough to describe, it's kind of trip hop (like Zero 7 or Air) with French jazz, bossa nova, and a bunch of other stuff. Artist is Her Majesty's Sound, album is Esperanza.

I also just picked up the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack by Karen O and am loving that.

The Flaming Lips just released an album that is all kinds of enjoyable weirdness.

Ruthelane, do you have a link to your favorite Michael Allman video?

I'm not a Devon fan, but the one or two Michael songs I've seen online have been pretty good.
